What is Ring Worm?
Ring Worm is a fungal infection of the skin. Ring Worm is also termed as Dermatophytosis, Dermatophyte, Infection or Tinea. The infected area resembles a worm in the shape of a ring, thus named as Ring Worm.
Causes:
Ringworm is caused by direct contact with infected humans, animals, and/or objects.
Symptoms:
- A rash with a ring-like appearance
- A round patch of itchy skin
- Overlapping ring shapes
- Itchiness
- Redness around the ring
Home Remedies:
- Apply Crown Plant (Aak) milk in affected area.
- Grind Neem (Indian Lilac) tree leaves and thoroughly mix with curd. Apply the paste in affected area.
- Prepare paste from turmeric powder and water. Apply in affected area.
- Apply the paste of grinded Bottle Gourd roots in affected area.
- Wash the affected area with Cow’s Urine (Gai Gaut).
- Grind Neem leaves and apply as paste to the affected region.
- Applying paste from Holy Basil (Tulasi) leaves is also helpful.
- Mix equal amount of juice from Holy Basil (Tulasi) leaves and lemon. Apply in affected area.
- Prepare a mixture of Gooseberry (Amala), Camphor (Kapur) and Sulpher in equal amounts. Add little kerosene to the mixture. Apply in affected area.
- Chew 2 black pepper and consume with water early morning in empty stomach. This helps to cure all diseases related to skin.
