What is Diarrhea or Diarrhoea?
Diarrhea is loose, watery and more frequent bowel moments. Normally it lasts for 1-3 days. When Diarrhea last for more then 5-6 days, it indicates other underlying problems in your health.
Causes:
- Eating food that upsets the digestive system.
- Excess alcohol consumption
- Food Poisoning
- Indigestion
- Bacterial Infection
- Side effects to some diseases like Diabetes, some Cancers, etc
Symptoms:
- Thin, loose and/or watery stool
- Stomach Cramps
- Urgent feeling to rush to the rest room/toilet
- Some may experience Nausea
Home Remedies:
- Garlic, Onion and Curd
- Mix a small amount of chopped Onion & 3 cloves of grinded Garlic.
- Add the mixture to fresh curd.
- Consume twice in a interval of 4 hours. You may mix some sugar or salt for taste.
- Chewing a clove of raw Garlic helps.
- Consume Jaulo with Garlic in it.
- If a child is suffering from Diarrhea
- Dip the outer shell of Wood Apple (Bel) Fruit in warm water for 4-5 hours.
- Filter the water with clean cotton cloth
- Mix Barley flour and sugar to form a paste
- Feed your child, 3 teaspoon thrice a day
- Cardamom, Rock Sugar and Salt
- Boil water with 5 pieces of Cardamom (Sukmel).
- Filter with clean cotton cloth
- Add a small piece of Rock Sugar (Mishri) and few pinches of Salt
- Consume a glass three times a day
- Holy Basil and Wood Apple
- Dry Holy Basil (Tulasi) leaves and prepare power from them
- Similarly prepare powder of Wood Apple (Bel) fruit.
- Mix them in equal parts.
- Consume 2 teaspoons twice a day.
