What is Uremia?
Uremia is a medical condition in which the level of urea in blood elevates. When the kidneys malfunction or become damaged, the urea that kidney normally send out in urine end up in the bloodstream instead. Uremia is a serious condition and a major symptom of renal failure. It can be life-threatening.
Causes:
- Problem in kidney
- High blood pressure
- Blockage in the urinary tract
- Enlarged prostate
- Diabetes
- Kidney stones
Symptoms:
- Frequent urination
- Trouble concentrating
- Loss of appetite
- Headache
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- May cause memory loss
- Cramps in legs
Home Remedies:
- Drink a glass of carrot milk every morning and evening
- Consume 4-5 teaspoons of bitter gourd juice every morning and evening.
- The patient should increase the amount of papaya, gooseberry, and fenugreek in the everyday diet.
- Boil 20-25 leaves of Holy Basil in water, leave to cool and filter with a clean cloth. Drink such water twice a day.
- Drink as much water as practicable.
- Reduce the intake of food that contains excess protein. Dinking 1-2 glasses of milk is not found to be harmful.
- Reducing the Risk of High Blood Pressure, Kidney Stone & Diabetes also reduces the risk of Uremia.
